HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAM (1993-1994)
Health Awareness Activity includes an Eye Campaign Program where individuals were identified and operated at Sitapur Hospital, Kotdwara, and others were provided with eyeglasses as per the requirement of their eye weakness. Health campaign programs were also organized where people having health issues were identified and treated by specialized doctors.
This program was conducted at the district level by the order of the Chief Medical Officer, Pauri Garhwal, in the year 1993–94. In Rudraprayag district, another health campaign was instigated in 1998.

PROJECT ON RAIN WATER HARVESTING (CAPART)
USKS in the year 2000 attended first 6 days awareness program organize by Council for Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology (CAPART) in Lucknow. Followed by Climate Adaptation projects include rainwater harvesting mechanisms, in Kaljikhal block in the year 2004.
PROJECT ON VERMICOMPOSTING
Turning Waste into Wealth Vermicomposting in Ekeshwar
In 2005, under CAPART’s guidance, USKS implemented a vermicomposting project in Ekeshwar block, transforming agro waste into nutrient-rich organic manure using Eisenia fetida earthworms—creating a sustainable solution for waste management and soil health.
Eco-Friendly Waste Management Through Vermicomposting
With 700 million tonnes of organic waste generated annually in India, USKS tackled this challenge through vermicomposting, reducing environmental pollution and producing high-quality compost from market agro waste.
Sustainable Farming with Vermicompost Technology
USKS promoted green farming by converting biodegradable agro waste into organic fertilizer using African earthworms. This initiative in Ekeshwar offers an eco-smart way to enrich soil and reduce landfill pressure.
WORK SHOP & TRAINING
PROGRAM
Work shop and training programs were conducted in duggadablock,district paurigarhwal where USKS made SHG and AANGANBADI women to come along and get trained and excel their skill to handle and manage and implement the same in their work.
Workshop and Training Programmes directed in Rudraprayag block where USKS trained other NGO’S on how to choose area and related projects and how to allocate resources.

PROJECT ON MEDICINE
PLANTATION
USKS have operated in medicine plantation project in the year 2001 through CAPARTunder this there was construction of poly house, nursery raising, awareness camp and training program for beneficiaries, program accompained in Ekeshwarblock.,PauriGarhwal.
FOREST MONITORING
UNDER FDA
USKS in the year 2008-09 have also functioned in forest monitoring under the guidance of forest development agencies in Purola, Aarakot at District Uttarkashi. And in 2010 completed the monitoring in Nanital, Where USKS actively sponsored the afforeststion schemes, awareness to protect trees.
PROJECT ON WATER QUALITY
TESTING
USKS has examined programs such as water quality testing under the Nationl Rural Drinking Water Quality Monitoring & Surveillance Program (NRDWQM&SP) in various blocks such as Kaljikhal block, Rikhnikhal block, Nanidanda block, Thalisain block, Paboo block, Dwarikhal block, Borokhal block, Kot block in district PauriGarhwal and sector programs in the same period in paurigarhwal. This work has been done for six years till 2014.

Har Ghar Jal, Har Ghar Swasth – Clean Water for a Healthy Tomorrow
USKS is actively working under the Jal Jeevan Mission, a program launched by the Government of India to ensure every household has access to clean drinking water. Through this mission, we aim to provide fresh, safe water to all communities across the country.
Recently, we conducted an awareness program and distributed Field Testing Kits (FTKs) to help communities assess the physical, chemical, and biological safety of their water, ensuring it’s safe for consumption.
